- A busy week back at work, catching up on what I'd missed, doing some decision making + Product-y thinking
- A fair bit of stuff to catch up did make it a slightly stressful start to the week, though
- Had a fun time at the GitHub Secure Open Source Fund's "Red Team - Repository Under Attack" event
GitHub Secure Open Source Fund: Red Team - Repository Under Attack: A Hands-On Incident Response Exercise
- Helpful to get some more practice on how to handle your repository/organisation being compromised by a bad actor, on top of previous experiences over the years
- Was interesting how many folks decided to outsource to AI instead of trying to debug themselves
- A reminder of how much I enjoy incident management (and miss it, in a weird way) while also how good I am at it as a skill
- And a good fun event and that doing simulated incidents/CTFs are fun
- And also interesting to see some of the other names in the new intake group π
- Full Canada writeup not quite complete, but hopefully in the next couple of days
- Did some bits of rootly-go,
oapi-codegen(with Marcin releasing 2.8.0 with OpenAPI 3.1 support, reddit), and some work on ecosystems-go, too - Both Cookie and Morph have continued to be very needy - although by Thursday Morph was done with my shit
- On Monday, Morph kept coming upstairs, including in the morning going under the bed (in one of Cookie's slots), including swiping quite aggressively at her when she came near π
- Monday was surprisingly chilly, and I needed to wear my trackies!
- The beasties are back :(
- Started doing the jigsaw Carol and Alan gave Anna for her birthday which has been fun, and we've made a lot of progress over the week
- An easy KvK (prep and battle), got 50 overall
- Realised that one of my posts was featured in the Git newsletter a while back which is cool!
- Had the first ever not-super-amazing meal from Rakki Rakkas which was a shock, but considering how much we've eaten there - an amazing track record!
- I'd not realised - until part way during the week - that Friday was my recharge day, so both Anna and I had a chilled day off after a nice walk at Blidworth
- A nice walk to Gravelly Hollow this morning
- Probably should've watched the England vs France decider for 3rd/4th place given the 6-4 score π±
- Finished off the last of sorting through the holiday finances
- Enjoying the new Cyberpunk event in Apex Legends and having fun zooming around
Reading:
- Leviathan Falls
Watched:
- Spain vs Argentina (World Cup 2026)
- Veep (Season 3)
- Veep (Season 4)
- Succession (Season 4)
- Finally finished the last 3 episodes that we'd not gotten around to sitting down to watching
- Very good, and a fitting end
- And it's nice to read through reddit now with safety
- Widow's Bay
- Dark (2017-)-like, creepy, but very good. Watched ~7 episodes since yesterday and gutted we can't finish it this weekend
