Week Notes 26#16

• A busy week at work
• Was pretty chuffed with myself when I saw a nudge about astral-sh/setup-uv not being updated by Renovate (since the move to Immutable Releases) and I was able to solve it pretty quickly, showing some good speed of reaction compared to alternative products
  • But, alas, it ended up being a little more complicated and breaking a few things, and I probably could've taken a breath to make sure it was right
  • Did end up getting a good solution in by Friday afternoon, and looking forward to turn it on this week
• (In my personal time) making some more progress with making it possible for Renovate to only suggest Go module updates within your Go minor version
• Had a fun Fallthrough recording, was good to chat with Kris and Ian and we covered a lot of stuff - kinda expected with ~4 hours of convo!
• In Kingshot it was Kingdom Transfer time for a few of us from 521, and it's been a good week so far in 511!
  • Bear Hunt is a little bit more chaotic but very much in a good way! Very well organised and leading to some great scores
• Had a nice pizza Thursday
• Spent a lot of time fighting the Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP) but managed to get it working + blogged about
  • Was a bit of a pain because I was trying to fix the GitHub Actions functionality, and fighting outdated docs and/or plugins not working as expected, but managed to get there!
• Had a nice Saturday out with Carol and Alan, with nice breakfast at Speciality then a mooch around the Contemporary's food + craft fair
  • There were so many diddy dogs around that were 🥰🥺
• Was lovely to catch-up with Ellie and Linh on Friday
• Was the 6-month checkin in the GitHub Secure Fund, and 🤞🏼 they're happy with progress
• Got some last-minute submissions into GopherCon UK's CFP, and I really would like to do the talk!
• Been enjoying listening to "How Did This Get Made?"
• Had a very dystopian moment in the car earlier - listening to a podcast and adding a note to myself to mention to the host about an issue with the audio - and Gemini (now taking over "OK, Google") was like "oh, do you want me to find a computer repair shop to help fix the audio"? 😡

  • The first time I've watched it in ~10 years, because I'd gotten to the point where I had watched it so much I knew all the jokes and it wasn't fun to watch any more
  • It's been a good amount of time now!
