Week Notes 25#47

  • Got my post about Open Source and LLMs out, which was good to get it off my mind
    • And was in perfect time for it to be included in Changelog News!
    • Not as much discussion about it, unfortunately
  • Been seeing a lot of Capital One people checking my LinkedIn profile out, what's all that about? πŸ‘€
  • Our Rakki Rakkas order got recognised by my voice 🫣
  • The new fridge is in! Bit of shuffling things around - it'll be interesting to see what it's like when we've got Gousto in the fridge, and how much extra space we have
  • Making some good progress with "agentic Renovate", ahead of a blog post on Mend's Hacker Noon in December
  • A few things off my mind this week too:
  • Had a lovely lunch with Carol at Kushi-ya on Thursday
  • Had a nice, fairly quiet, pub night with Chris and Dougie
  • It's been very chilly, and managed to get a chance to try my driving gloves - which Anna bought me for last year's birthday, but the weather has been too nice to use until now - which are lovely!
  • Had a nice chilled weekend, and went over to the Sherwood Makers Christmas craft fair

Reading:

  • Cibola Burn
  • Program Management for Open Source Projects

Watched:

  • (No The Bear this week)
  • Kim's Convenience
  • Nobody Wants This
  • Kaos
    • My first watch - Anna's seen it a couple of times - and so gutted it was cancelled given how great it was
    • Knowing a fair bit of the classics, and the general gist of a lot of the stories, there were some really interesting choices they made, and I kinda knew what was coming but also they modernised and blended things in a great way
    • And made me very much want to get back into playing Hades (before getting Hades 2)
  • Wonder Woman
  • SNL (on YouTube)
