Week Notes 25#45

  • Had a great chat with Josh on the Open Source Security podcast, talking about dependency management and some of the complexities that are involved with a project like Renovate
  • A busy work week leading up to the Renovate v42 release, and my first Mend blog post
  • David Flanagan asked if I had a public podcast subscription list, so I thought I may as well create a /podcasts/ page - it's based on Podcast Addict's listening history, as that was slightly quicker to get than querying my listen list
  • I've checked in on my AWS bill (since CAPTCHA'ing anyone coming from China) and I've seen a significant reduction in traffic accessing my site, seeing ~36% blocked by CAPTCHA πŸ˜…
  • On Friday night, while I was trying to read, my mind conjured up a whole set of ideas - based on a conversation earlier at work - about ways to write a lightweight agent loop to modify + validate Renovate config, so you may see something from me about this in the coming weeks!
  • Had a good day of Kingshot yesterday, getting a tonne of points for the KvK castle battle
  • We got the trees done, which was good
  • Had a lovely walk at Outwoods (Loughborough) with Carol and Alan - got the doggos very tired, a nommy lunch and some great bakery treat takeaways!
  • Earlier week notes than usual, as we're off to see Nick Mohammed's comedy show tonight πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
