Week Notes 25#38

A lovely week in sunny Tsilivi in Zakynthos (aka Zante) 🌞

• We had such a lovely time, enjoying the sun, reading our books, and swimming in the pool and the sea
• We had some great food and drink at:
  • Milos pub
  • Arhontikon
    • The food was really good! The portions were incredibly generous 😋
    • However, the best thing about the restaurant was that I had perfect view of a group of kittens playing with seat cushions and each other, which was very cute
    • I was very strong and resisted feeding or stroking them - some of the nearby tables did feed them, which wasn't great as some other street cats wanted the food, and it got a bit heated
      • And one of the kittens then kept trying to jump up on our table 🫣

  • Scoop (inside Gyroland)
  • Anna's Kitchen
  • Sandra's bar
  • The Halfway House
  • Nobile Restaurant
• Was great to have the weather be in the high 20s and I managed to get a good amount of tanning (and was a little pink at times 🫣)
• Was completely switched off, not going on social media, reddit (aside from /r/TheExpanse) and staying out of checking the depressing state of world news
• Was also nice to have missed the chaos that was the Shai-Hulud npm worm
• On Thursday we did a boat tour of the south of the island, we saw a couple of sea turtles underwater and one coming up for air, then went over to Turtle Island
• It was definitely a shock coming back to the cold, and the drive home was very bad rain, which wasn't the most fun
• Was nice to get the little fur babies back
  • Cookie was very excited to see us, and had had a good time
  • As I arrived to pick up Morph, he started loudly meowing (as he had full view of all arrivals from his car park view) and then when he realised it was me, he was incredibly loud wailing (which persisted through the drive home), so safe to say he was happy coming home!
• Not sure how I feel about the new Android UI, and feel it's a very iOS-y feel (at least pre-latest iOS)
• Made some tweaks to my Bubble Tea TUI for website stats to make it a bit nicer to use
• The $REDACTED has been busy this week, so I've got a lot to catch up on!
• Haven't yet posted my book reading from the week as entries on my site, but will do once I've finished writing these
  • Also because I see to be getting a lot of HTTP 429s from the OpenLibrary - not sure if they're blocking everyone
• Doing a re-read of The Expanse books, in chronological order

  • Noticed a few typos (at least from what I think) in the Kindle version so submitted them for review
• Gods of Risk
• Abaddon's Gate
