Week Notes 25#31

A big week - some big decisions to make, the main one of which is that I'm leaving Elastic πŸ‘€

  • There'll be more details coming soon, but:
    • I'm leaving Elastic, with my last day on 2025-09-05
    • I'm very excited for my next gig
    • I've got a good ~20 days between jobs to recharge, which I'm very much looking forward to
    • I handed in my notice on Thursday + we told the team - ahead of me being away for a 4 day weekend - so we can get the ball rolling on relevant handovers
  • Prior to announcing, I had a very busy start to the week balancing on-call and trying to prepare for a couple of important meetings
  • Evenings have also been very busy with learning how to embroider for my Mum's birthday present - been fun, and a cool new thing I've learned
  • Morph had a good weekend with Laura and Reuben and was very thirsty coming back on Monday, enjoying cuddles especially on Tuesday when he had the house to himself with me
  • The new season of Apex Legends has been fun so far - Wildcard is great fun (and a reminder of how mediocre I am), but I hate what they've done to E-District
  • Had a lovely few days with the family in Shrewsbury for my Mum's 70th πŸ₯°
    • Went to Blists Hill Victorian Town - tonnes of information from the reenactors and maybe got about 25% of the value while we were there? Very much recommend!
    • (more details to follow)

Watched:

  • Ugly Betty
  • The Bear
    • Catching up on Season 3
