Week Notes 25#30

A busy week with my workshop at Manchester Gophers and Anna's family staying for a long weekend:

  • A busy week doing some final prep for my workshop at Manchester Gophers
  • Had a panic in Wednesday after archiving my return train ticket, but blogumented a way around it
  • Had a good catch-up with Chris
  • Was a very close train on the way back on the Thursday, thankfully got the Uber because I had ~2m on the platform before the train arrived!
  • TIL I like Irn Bru
  • We had Anna's family staying over over the long weekend which has been nice
    • Tidying my office ahead of guests (thankfully) went well, with the adrenaline / deadline looming the night before, and mostly looking better, but still got bits in different places that will need to come out tomorrow
  • Had Clarity on loop a lot this week
  • Looking forward to next season of Apex Legends with some of the new season changes

In Dependency Management Data:

  • Spoke at Manchester Gophers
    • Was great, appreciate being able to speak and recommend others speak, too!
    • Everyone was super nice, and nice to see some familiar faces as well as meet some new folks
    • Got some good feedback on the workshop and some tweaks I'll be making ahead of GopherCon UK
    • Was nice to have the post-event pub, and nice being able to stay late (as I stayed overnight in Manchester)
    • I felt very bad being the first person to bring up AI, almost at the end of my talk 🫣
    • Had a nice breakfast at Pot Kettle Black on Thursday
    • Super appreciative of my custom Gopher - as a speaker gift - and I'll be posting a nice photo of it tomorrow
  • Finally wrote my "how to use Evidence and Dependency Management Data" post, which has been pending for a while, and glad I waited until after the workshop to have some good examples of usage to point to
