Week Notes 25#23

• Took Cookie to the vets on Monday - for a checkup and to get her tick removed - and she was good
  • But as we got her vaccine boosters, she's unable to go to daycare for a couple of weeks
• A good Batch Bunch
  • Got a few bits done, including updating my PR to add known Identifiers to endoflife.date
  • Very good cupcakes 😋
  • And nice to see Louise, too!
• Got some Millie's Cookies from Too Good to Go
• Very busy work week with lots going on with Renovate replatforming work
• Made some additional tweaks to my dotfiles
  • Got help from Copilot (GPT 4.1) to get set up with Atkinson Hyperlegible, given I'd noticed my usual sans-serif fonts had suddenly stopped working
  • Also get CodeCompanion in Neovim to do some vibe coding, with the full @full_stack_dev setup, to create a CLI, gbrowse, which would open the branch I'd checked out on GitHub.com
• Was reminded that /r/hacksoc (of Hacksoc Nottingham) existed on Reddit - due to some spam on the subreddit
• Booked a holiday to Brussels for early July 🍟🍺🧇🍫
• Had a good Thursday night Rakki Rakkas 😋
• Saw Anna's parents this afternoon which was nice
• Feel like "pay to win" has been a theme this week
  • Cat Snack Bar has been particularly pay-to-win in the newest event, very painfully slow without spending gems - and as they're generally worthless now, I went from 23k -> 9k
    • On the plus side I did get the blueprint for the pirate hat, and managed to have many spare pieces to create it, and that's now maxxed out and helped me complete burger tower 40 (which has been plaguing me for a while)
  • And finally "pulled the trigger" to buy the battle pass (premium+) for Apex Legends which gave me the exotic shards I needed to then get the R301 Hornet
    • On level 59 of the battle pass, so should be good to get it finished in the next ~9 days
• Nice to meet Amy and Priya this week
• Had a good catch-up with Marcus
• Got a new sponsor from Owncast on oapi-codegen
• Walking Cookie today at Bestwood, we were crossing the bridge and heard a splash and were like "where's Cookie"? 🤔
  • Turns out she'd not realised how deep the water was and slid/jumped in 😅
  • Just as I was rushing over to jump down to get her out, she managed to clamber up
  • Super soggy but otherwise not harmed, aside from being a little wary of the water as we went round the rest of the walk
• In preparing for GopherCon UK:
  • Talking with Manchester Gophers to see if we can get a slot booked 👀
  • Still continuing to work out the flow and some of the key things I want folks to learn, as well as how to manage supporting folks who may join part way in
  • Planning out some work that I want to get done on DMD before
  • It's now live on the schedule, too 🚀
• Managed to do a little oapi-codegen stuff - albeit not any planned work, but something I've thought about before, to autogenerate server URL boilerplate
• Had a nice Zaap on Saturday
