- Already June π³
- Had a great time chatting with Tessa on 99 Dev Problems on Monday
- An end-of-last-week conversation led to significant impact this week, but also led to a conversation that hopefully helps reduce pressure for the foreseeable
- On Saturday we went to see The Book of Mormon at the Theatre Royal
- Was really fun! Didn't have many expectations going into it, and really enjoyed it. Some funny and outrageous bits, and it's amazing - after so long of not seeing any theatre - to see great set design and great logistics for quick costume or set changes
- Cookie was so good while we were out π₯°
- ... because before we went, we for a long walk at Gravelly Hollow - albeit it was pissing it down in the worst way, but thankfully stopped ~15 minutes in
- Tried out Swift's (the new owner's rebranded "Naughty But Nice") which looks nice inside, and is mostly the same. But was nice to go there this morning for breakfast cobs, as it didn't used to be open on weekends
- Had a good chat with Barney about
oapi-codegen
- Had some very good Pudding Pantry bits - in particular the Kinder Cookie Pie is π₯ and I think my favourite of their options π
- Sitting in the conservatory yesterday, we saw Morph - from next to the spider pit - looking behind us. We looked around, and saw there was a fox π¦ behind us - Cookie hadn't seen yet but then she did and was π‘π‘π‘π‘ cause she does not like them (regularly waking us up in the night to let us know)
- Took Cookie to the emergency vets today as we found a tick on her - we didn't feel confident doing it ourselves, and they found she was too wriggly, so we've got some tablets to help it pop off naturally instead
- Found that I've been accepted to speak at GopherConUK π I'll be doing a 2 hour tutorial for DMD: "What story does your dependency tree tell you about your organisation?" which I'm very much looking forward to
- Spent some time this weekend looking at "need to have" features/bugs/work done before the workshop, some "nice to have"s, as well as trying to work out exactly what I want folks to be able to get out of it
- On Thursday - as I was finishing lunch - I'd paused the TV and when I went to unpause, found that sound wasn't working. Later that evening we looked at it some more, but no dice π¬
- It resulted in a lil' meltdown-y experience and on Friday morning - after no debugging steps working, including a factory reset - I ended up doing many calls to try and work out what we could do with it, and have a registered
- What is very suspect is that we bought the TV 368 days before the issue occurred. Conveniently the manufacturer's warranty runs out after a year π But thankfully our 5 year warranty with John Lewis is kicking in
- We've got our Nest Hub in the living room set up as a Bluetooth speaker so we're not completely without TV, but it's meant we're not watching any "top tier" things i.e. the new Captain America: Brave New World
- The new Expanse game looks very good π
- Did some dotfile cleanup
- Had a pork-heavy week with Gousto this week - although realised a bit late that one meal was lamb, but we didn't notice we'd accidentally used pork that day, and lamb a different day π
Reading:
- Sunrise on the Reaping
- As I've been making time to read it before bed, even if it has been a bit late
Watched:
- Taskmaster
- And outtakes on YouTube
- Archer
- The Rings of Power
- Great end of Season 2
- Murderbot
- Accidentally realised we'd smashed through all the available episodes so now have to wait π
- The Wrong Mans
