Week Notes 25#17

Tough going back to a 5 day week, but at least it's a long weekend!

• Had my first Lidl trip in weeks which was weird but nice
• Enjoying the Straight Shot Quads mode in Apex Legends
• Spent a good chunk of time fighting pylsp for some work stuff I was doing (on a poor brain day) and converting a Ruby script to Python (even though I dislike Python, it's what we need it in)
  • Plus a lot of Copilot-driven "please do all the work for me" as we're trying to do more with it at work, which has had mixed success, but we did finally get there
• This weekend, spent some time working on migrating DMD to the new EndOfLife.date V1 API
  • And hit a few annoying bits with oapi-codegen
    • A gap in docs for duplicated types with generated client boilerplate, but at least the functionality is there!
    • Needing to downgrade the OpenAPI 3.1 spec to 3.0 (via Overlay)
  • And working on my addition to the API to i.e. list all known pURLs
• Finished a first draft of our (current) governance process for oapi-codegen
• Got my first draft of my Maintainer Month blog post in, and looking forward to iterating over it
• A nice Thursday out at Neon and Working Man's Pizza
  • Played Spaceteam
  • Had some good chats + got to meet a friend's 🌭🐶
• A nice long weekend with Sarah and the kids
  • Had a nice spag bol on Saturday, and Rakki Rakkas tonight 😋
  • And joined them all at White Post Farm (after walking Cookie while they headed out earlier) - saw some very cute animals and a funny lil' Armadillo running around, and had a fun tractor tour
• Was nice to be featured on "An incomplete list of blogs that use WebMention", but the several hundred Webmentions for the last few days (which then send me a push notification) has been rather annoying, but does remind me of me doing this to others (Reader Mail: Webmention Spam)
  • It turns out I can't log into Webmention.io (I'm not quite sure why, but likely an issue with my IndieAuth server) so I've had to add a hacky workaround in my notifications API
• Had some good external 1-1s this week - Hector, Matt, Abby
• Cookie was very spooked by Joe the lil' tiny fuzzball down the road, very confusingly thinking that he was a cat 😅 and even after realising he was a dog, still not quite believing it and being a little scared 😅
• Been having lovely mangos that my parents brought us last weekend
• Added a new script to this site to simplify creating a new blog post + adding the commit date metadata, something I've spent far too many cumulative minutes on
