Week Notes 24#01

A (nice) slow start to the new year.

  • Helped next door get the bricks from their fallen wall out of our garden, which was quite a workout 😅 I'm still sore, especially after doing some DIY today too
  • Got my first payment from Tidelift 💸
  • Ordered some new phone cases from Casetify, which we're very much looking forward to
  • Cookie's been very bark-y and annoying in the night this week - seems like she's been very protective of the garden
    • And today she was rather amped up as there were two cats on the fence behind us yowling at each other, neither one wanting to back down, and Cookie was adamant that she could solve the issue for them 😅
  • Finalised my migration from Gruvbox to Srcery for my dotfiles
  • Had a bit of traffic this week due to a blog post of mine being linked in the comments of a Hacker News thread
  • Published my site in review and music in review
  • Spent the afternoon making progress in the box room by setting up the wardrobes to make managing things a little easier
  • Yesterday I went over to say hello to Morph on his tower, and he started washing me 🥺😻 was very funny he was licking my face + hair
  • Decided to do a little bit of an out-there Gousto - a Garlic Naan Topped Chicken Bhuna Pie - but making the naan was very stressful and I lost about an hour of the evening trying to make it, before I gave up and just made the curry
    • Definitely didn't like the feeling/texture of the sticky naan dough
  • Tried the hazelnut praline Gu brownies, which were quite nice - especially the option to have it warm or cold
  • Did our wills - albeit we need to wait for them to be reviewed, then get witnessed - and feeling a lot better about things now we've got it sorted, after quite some time of meaning to do so!

In dependency-management-data:

  • A big week of docs changes and feeling much happier with the state of the docs and how to use the data
  • Been playing around with writing a Backstage plugin for DMD, integrating with the GraphQL API, which is cool - and will be released as a paid feature 😜
