"Hey Eva, what is it like to be a woman in tech?"
You are an intensely public figure, deliberately having thrust yourself into the media. You are a social media influencer with 167k followers here and then act all high and mighty when occasionally someone contacts you for business. #stophuffingyourownfarts

Hi, I'm sure that whoever runs this account has no idea who I am, but I founded @mozilla and I'm here to say fuck you and fuck this. Everyone involved in the project should be witheringly ashamed of this decision to partner with planet-incinerating Ponzi grifters.

Throughout 2021 I've been keeping a note on my phone when one event, conversation or format absolutely DOMINATED my Twitter feed. Not meme formats on ig. Not news stories on reddit. Twitter. Here's what took over twitter in 2021:

This, but with TikTok. You can’t even try to search for it. It’s just gone. Never to be seen again.twitter.com/kristyt/status…
There is little worse than knowing you saw something on twitter and never being able to find it again….

I wanted a way to monitor trending CVEs on Twitter So I built CVEtrends.com - data comes from Twitter + NIST NVD APIs - back-end: Python, Flask, PostgreSQL, and Redis - front-end: React + Bootstrap It's a quick MVP, but let me know your thoughts and feedback...

Perennial reminder that if you see some dumb thing that KFC or Wendy’s or any other brand does and you tweet about it all snarky like “Why does this exist!?”…the answer is your tweet. You tweeting about it is why it exists. Stop falling for it.

I dunno, Tech Twitter is cringy as fuck sometimes. It's like that episode of Black Mirror where you have to be fake happy and make forced corny chit chat just to gain stars. Except it never stops and just gets more and more cringe.

My app utm_no removes utm_whatever=blah tracking params from copied links. It COULD turn t.co links copied from twitter into real links, removing twitter tracking, but it must hit Twitter for that: a privacy problem. Would you want that?
Post detailsI made a little app: it sits in your notification area and strips all that utm_stuff=blah&utm_banner=ohno tracking link stuff off of links on your clipboard, so when you paste the link to your mates to share it, all that stuff is gone. Simple but useful! kryogenix.org/code/utm_no/

I've been on Twitter for OH GOD IT HAS BEEN FOURTEEN YEARS and uh anyways I routinely grumble about how I'd rather be a customer than a product. Soon as this option shows up for me I'm taking it.
honestly twitter blue seems like kind of a good deal

TOP TIP: I turned on a filter in settings that mutes all tweets from accounts which haven’t confirmed their e-mail & mobile number. Amazingly it has instantly wiped all racism from my feed, coz surprisingly people who express those kind of views don’t like being identified.

and meanwhile @IanColdwater was denied verification. WTF.
Post detailsThis account was setup in March, has fewer than 100 followers, and is already verified. The man behind this account claims to be a physician in SF and is already verified? One of his first tweets was spreading Chinese government propaganda about the Uyghurs.
