Perennial reminder that if you see some dumb thing that KFC or Wendy’s or any other brand does and you tweet about it all snarky like “Why does this exist!?”…the answer is your tweet. You tweeting about it is why it exists. Stop falling for it.

I dunno, Tech Twitter is cringy as fuck sometimes. It's like that episode of Black Mirror where you have to be fake happy and make forced corny chit chat just to gain stars. Except it never stops and just gets more and more cringe.Michael JS Fox (@michaeljsfox)Sun, 19 Dec 2021 09:42 GMT

sorry, really disagree that it’s just an aesthetic. cynical tweets about other companies do great on twitter, so hugops is a less trendy but more empathetic response from a specific part of the field recognizing job complexities; a _more_ advanced conversation IMO.

We have normalised taking pictures and videos of people without consent. We’ve made it socially acceptable to capture strangers going about their day to post to audiences that they themselves are unaware they’re “entertaining”. There is an entitlement to these actions.

My app utm_no removes utm_whatever=blah tracking params from copied links. It COULD turn t.co links copied from twitter into real links, removing twitter tracking, but it must hit Twitter for that: a privacy problem. Would you want that?Post details
I made a little app: it sits in your notification area and strips all that utm_stuff=blah&utm_banner=ohno tracking link stuff off of links on your clipboard, so when you paste the link to your mates to share it, all that stuff is gone.
