Implementors use the terms interchangeably unless they are making distinctions. Even at a TLS working group meeting, no-one will care if you say SSL. Also it's basically always SSL certs, no-one says TLS certs. TLS "Well actually"ing is just idiotic gatekeeping.

Any interview question that relies on historical knowledge of how things were done before the current paradigm is a bad one. Just because you learned legacy thing first doesn’t make it a requirement for understanding the current functionality.

I know it's not the intent of this post, but something I see mostly would be "a ridiculous level of gatekeeping" 😂
I want to save this tweet as the textbook definition of gatekeeping.
Do you have a CS degree Corey? Did you take a class in formal languages at all? Regular expressions, push down automata, Turing machines, etc? HTML isn't a programming language. It's just markup.

I'm a senior software engineer. From 16 to my early 20s I was a fast food worker. Fast food work is definitely harder and you are not the kind of person who should be gatekeeping ✌🏻
I'm a programmer. It's hard work. Takes a certain kind of person to do it. Most fast-food workers can't get my no-cheese order right or give change without it being spelled out, what's make you think they can troubleshoot any markup language?

That “I just assume you’re junior” tweet is gatekeeping ASF and I’m just not here for it. I want to start a fight but it’s not worth it at another random 3am wake-up session. 🤪 I also want to shield my timeline from more gatekeepers. 😤
