PSA: Do not use EAP therapy resources. This is some of the legislation we are working on in Washington... hopefully federally. @chelseyglasson brought it to light that Google is using her EAP therapy notes against her... and the fact that they had access at all is alarming.

Yikes. TL;DR: Employee talks to HR about discrimination. Google suggests (on-campus) counseling. Google has access to notes from those sessions (!!) and used them against her in court (!!!). So much for that employer-provided "perk". Story here: nytimes.com/2021/07/28/us/…

I am hugely Facebook critical but don't think it's appropriate to post about how everyone who works there is evil/should leave/etc. Just because you personally wouldn't take a job there everyone has their own reasons. Direct your anger at the leaders and company level.

One final point: Now let’s remember that the internet is 1-to-many. If 1 million people download that 1GB this month, my cost with @cloudflare R2 this way rounds up to 13¢. With @awscloud S3 it’s $59,247.52. THAT is why people are losing their minds over this.
