It’s interesting because people keep saying, “I can’t wait for things to get back to normal” and I have fundamentally changed through this experience. What’s normal?

I also wonder how this lack of social stamina is contributing to burnout.

It's March 1st, 2020. You're sitting down to watch Sonic the Hedgehog at your local AMC because you find James Marsden charming & affable. You like that they redesigned Sonic based on fan feedback. You're excited for the film. The woman behind you coughs. You die 3 weeks later.

In England, my 12 year old brother has just tested positive. He was due his vaccine this week. In Italy, as a teacher I don't know any 12 year olds who have had Covid. But then, we vaxxed them 3 months ago, still social distance and wear masks in classrooms #COVID19Katherine Russen #FBPE #FBR #Facciamorete🇪🇺 🇬🇧 (@katrussen)Fri, 22 Oct 2021 05:43 +0000

I can’t help thinking that this pandemic would be over by now if we had admitted the main spreading places like schools and work are full of bullies at leadership level down and we just don’t need to be present in those unsafe spaces anymore to thrive
