omg I am SHOCKED that covid cases are rising after restrictions and masks have been removed like this is CRAZY who could ever have predicted it
ely kreimendahl (@ElyKreimendahl)Tue, 15 Mar 2022 15:25 GMT
Just a PSA, if you see a stranger wearing a mask in public, you do not need to remind them they don’t have to wear a mask. We know. And we’re still masking. The reasons why may be different but we all know we are no longer required by the state to do so, ok? So you can hush now.
Sami Schalk (@DrSamiSchalk)Mon, 14 Mar 2022 22:20 GMT
Anyone else feel like they’re being gaslit into thinking the pandemic is over? I mean, COVID is still out there right? It didn’t vanish overnight, right?Mina Markham (@MinaMarkham)Sun, 13 Mar 2022 15:05 GMT

unfortunately, I'm afraid what's gonna happen is that, if you continue wearing a mask when most people around you have stopped, the cognitive dissonance you cause for them re: whether the pandemic is truly over or not is going to turn into anger (directed at you) right quick
Michelle Allison (@fatnutritionist)Sun, 06 Mar 2022 00:31 GMT
We don’t need any more commentators agonizing over why people are still (!!) wearing masks. It’s to avoid getting sick. Even if I’m 99.9% sure I’ll survive (not everyone is!), maybe I don’t wanna get sick? Or make others sick? Not wanting to get sick is actually very normal!Katie Mack (@AstroKatie)Sat, 05 Mar 2022 23:31 GMT
I say this seriously and it is not a contested statement: the new CDC guidance is predicated on the assumption that you are *entirely okay* with catching Covid and passing it on to others. If you are NOT okay with that, you’re just a footnote in the new guidance.
Katie Mack (@AstroKatie)Sun, 27 Feb 2022 22:39 GMT
Dropping in-flight masking even as we enter the second decade of x-raying our shoes and putting shampoo in tiny bottles would be just a perfect metaphor for everything wrong with American policymaking

just a glimpse into how my life has changed since getting covid: the chair I now use to shower. lifting my arms above my shoulders while standing is so strenuous I nearly pass out which is dangerous since I live alone. this at least makes it so I can get thru a shower

What a difference it would make if COVID mitigation measures were referred to as “protections” in the media vs. “restrictions”.
Oni Blackstock MD MHS (@oni_blackstock)Fri, 11 Feb 2022 19:02 GMT
Actually, yeah, I would rather wear a mask for a few more months if it means I'm less likely to accidentally kill someone's grandma. This isn't complicated.

We could have ended COVID before it became a pandemic by just taking some simple measures - masks, tests, contact tracing doing and some local lockdowns back in early 2020. We could have ended it before Omicron by lifting patents and distributing vaccines throughout the worldRosa Astra (@morganastra)Mon, 03 Jan 2022 19:53 GMT
The coronavirus API documentation, specifically, is the gold standard by which all API docs should be assessed. It’s clear! It generates URLs you can paste into your code! It regards helping people get to the info as a point, rather than seeing the API as an exam you have to pass
