I don't trust (and can't use) jwt.io for anything I do at work, but I've got https://www.jvt.me/posts/2019/06/13/pretty-printing-jwt-openssl/ and https://www.jvt.me/posts/2018/08/31/pretty-printing-jwt-ruby/ as solutions you can run locally and have confidence that your secret tokens aren't being leaked anywhere!

I genuinely believe that there is a great opportunity to learn and have lots of fun building your personal website. I found a lot of support in the #IndieWeb community so I wrote a case for it! And it’s on @smashingmag 🥳Post details

When I first started, felt bad for being different from what society thinks a “typical” programmer might be. I pushed myself to fit in, to read more tech blogs, attend conferences, go to hackathons because I felt like if I didn’t... then I wasn’t a good programmer. 1/4Alice Yuan: Alice in Techland creator (@Names_Alice)Tue, 25 Aug 2020 18:12 +0000

When I worked with @MrAndrew, this happened so much over email. He'd get reasonable, polite responses and I'd get unreasonable rude ones. When he sent newsletters with minor mistakes missed, no follow-ups. When I sent them, multiple men emailing me corrections. It's exhausting.Post details
So. A (male) publicist was trying to book a (male) colleague and I for podcast. We gave availability but didn't get confirmation. The publicist informed us with hours notice that we were on today. My (male) colleague and I both said we couldn't do it. Here are the two responses.Heather Parry (@HeatherParryUK)Wed, 26 Aug 2020 18:52 +0000

My pettiness level: Got told to fuck off by the Mum of the family in Greggs who were stood right up my arse when I politely asked if they could stand back a couple of meters. As a result I was forced to buy the last slice of pizza that their son said he wanted & he cried.Fromage a trois (@Paul_Hawkins83)Wed, 26 Aug 2020 11:47 +0000
"We hire the best and the brightest engineers!" Now then, to get the job you'll be graded on a series of skills that will not be touched upon ever again for your entire tenure here; some of our interview questions technically qualify as hazing.HydroxyCoreyQuinn (@QuinnyPig)Wed, 26 Aug 2020 18:46 +0000
If I built software I would simply make every user happy at once, maintain multiple versions of everything, let users roll back to older versions, never ship any bugs, and be feature complete from the get-go but maybe that's just me

I chose the name "Daybridge" for the new company because it's easy to spell, pronounced as it's written, can be spelled unambiguously, and the .com was available to buy. I think these are way more important than people realise when naming a new startup.
