We've seen multiple cases of an intern being blamed, named, and hung out to dry. That's shitty. It's okay for interns to make mistakes. It's expected. They should have the freedom to do that, on production systems, and not fear their careers being ruined.

In this case, HBO demonstrated that they give their interns real responsibilities, and that they're equipped to handle it in a healthy, constructive way when a mistake inevitably happens. They are setting a good example for others.
