dear men: I promise it's possible to appreciate pretty people in bikinis without making gross comments about, uh, exactly how you are appreciating them. if you aren't very extremely sure that person wants to hear that kind of feedback from you, maybe keep that comment to yourself

It’s not easy being a working Mama! Genius #christinewada designed Sylvie’s costume & added concealed zippers so I could pump easily & nurse my baby between takes. Little (big) things like this that made it possible for me to do my job & be a parent. I’m forever grateful 💖Sophia Di Martino (@sophiadimartino)Thu, 01 Jul 2021 08:16 +0000
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Copilot, is in fact, GNU/Copilot, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU code trained Copilot. Copilot is not an AI system unto itself, but rather a proprietary component that launders GNU code

Or she, or they 🙃
Bill Cosby was convicted of it and got released 2 years later. Trump bragged about it and was never even charged. This is why women hesitate to come forward about sexual assault, in case it was still unclear.

Last Copilot hot take. MS/Github have used their dominant market position as the largest source of public code in the world to build a closed proprietary service, without the explicit consent of their customers.

Sorry for the late reply!
The main one is that having it as a machine-parseable format means:
Bill Cosby may be free, but as a male comedian with a history of sexual abuse, the most he can expect from the comedy community is lots of bookings.

If Microsoft loves open source, then just make Copilot open source. It would be the bare minimum fair thing to do since without all that open source training data set, they would not be able to build it. But no, they want to monetize it.André Staltz (@andrestaltz)Wed, 30 Jun 2021 16:04 +0000
Randomly on this subject, my (Egyptian) wife had never heard of Stonehenge when I mentioned it recently, so I showed her photos of it, assuming she’d recognize the look but not the name etc, and she was just like, this is pathetic, your ancestors were small and weak

Saying that physical co-mingling is vital to innovation is literally telling your disabled and distributed employees that they aren't an imperative part of your inventions and growth, and identifying it as the catalyst removes all of the times one of those employees sparked it.

Companies who don't support full remote are currently losing candidates to companies that do. CANDIDATES. If people who don't even work for you yet are moving on to look somewhere else, what do you think your current employees are doing?Ben Lesh 🎨💻🎮 (@BenLesh)Wed, 30 Jun 2021 05:04 +0000

github copilot has, by their own admission, been trained on mountains of gpl code, so i'm unclear on how it's not a form of laundering open source code into commercial works. the handwave of "it usually doesn't reproduce exact chunks" is not very satisfying

I have trouble telling what other people mean by “burnout.” Most of the stuff I’ve seen had led me to believe it was a form of severe exhaustion (and somewhat transient). I have gradually come to understand it’s more like some part of you literally stops functioning.Emily Strickland (@emilyst@social.emilylilyli.me) (@emilyst)Tue, 29 Jun 2021 21:16 +0000

I don’t do roommates but if I did I wouldn’t want to live with someone who didn’t think my life mattered, believed wild conspiracies, and supported domestic terrorism against our Capitol.
