My husband first relapsed 2 years ago. It's been a huge source of stress, and this summer was incredibly intense with him in and out of the hospital. I cried tears of joy today when they told us he's now in remission. ♥️ So happy! 🎉🎉🎉

Nothing can make tech events safe until you all actually experience a safe inclusive event. Too many tech folk never matured past high school and want to use in person events to re create school and immature giggles even my children would be ashamed to laugh at

This is why we avoid all these “tech”’events. Bc stuff like this ( if you didn’t see it, a barbie made into a badge, legs splayed, that dispensed hand sanitizer) centers the male gaze and objectification of women and you all write it off as bants and say your events are safe

Job hop all you want, kids, even if the job you currently have feels "okay". You don't have to be miserable to do it. Companies are seriously missing out on retaining talent because they're more willing to pay a new hire way more than before, which is BONKERS for retention??

While I love that so many people in the replies are horrified that people touch me without consent at conferences, I promise this is common. It sucks and I hate it but yes strangers try to hug me, put an arm around my shoulder, hand on my back, whatever, all the time.
