No. Women who are more agreeable are more favorably considered. I’ve been ghosted when I ask for paybands, and when I’ve tried to negotiate in the past. That taught me to accept what was offered and deal with being underpaid or else I might not be employed at all.

But I also think that in most cases, women end up having a lower salary in tech not because the hiring team has something against women, but because on average women are more agreeable than men. I'm open to having my mind changed on this though with a study.
