100% the vulnerability and exploit are bad and mitigation should be done ASAP. However, that doesn't mean log4j is a bad library to use (which is how I read it and the point I was trying to make is log4j isn't bad, just the vulnerability).

That tiny dopamine rush I get every time I find a new blog I like, input the URL into Reeder and an RSS feed does show up for me to subscribe to. Hitting that subscribe button is a little exhilarating. 😌 Don't judge me.

I've written about this before in https://www.jvt.me/posts/2019/01/12/self-code-review/ and hugely recommend it - especially when there's a way to mark it as a Draft so it's clear it's not yet ready for review. After you've added comments, it may need you to address things before it can then go out to others in the team

Always always review your own PR before sending it to your team to review. I always think I'm done. Then I pretend to be someone else and review it, and I end up fixing 20 issues.

This time 3 years ago I was at the most uncomfortable work meeting of my life. The CEO called a meeting in his home and just berated and belittled leadership for 5 days. Totally demotivating. Toxicity starts at the top.

It looks like you're looking for catchThrowableOfType, which allows you to receive the correct class:

PSA: Do not use EAP therapy resources. This is some of the legislation we are working on in Washington... hopefully federally. @chelseyglasson brought it to light that Google is using her EAP therapy notes against her... and the fact that they had access at all is alarming.

Yikes. TL;DR: Employee talks to HR about discrimination. Google suggests (on-campus) counseling. Google has access to notes from those sessions (!!) and used them against her in court (!!!). So much for that employer-provided "perk". Story here: nytimes.com/2021/07/28/us/…

I was today years old that I learned when you hash a URL in Java it does a DNS lookup to get the IP address associated with the hostname as part of the hash function.

I don't care if #Log4J is supposed to be pronounced as Log-Forge... ...I'm still gonna pronounce it as Log-Four-Jay. Same way that Nginx is not Engine-Ex, it's En-Ginx (G pronounced like the G in gif).
