Can we start doing this every time a celebrity does something morally debatable? Like, head down to supermax and ask Son of Sam for his demon dog’s hot take?

Andrew Doyle is someone who is perpetually cynical about “queer culture”. He sees it as “wokery”, a debasement of rational thought . Trans issues intersect this. He parodies a white privileged woman on twitter to make these points. But its not really a parody. It’s his fantasy twitter.com/gbnews/status/…Post details

AGPLv3 wasn't designed to guarantee that anyone will "contribute back." It was designed to guarantee that the permissions required for Software Freedom will be given to those who access software over a network. It's about "paying forward" to users not "paying back" to authors.

If you think teaching children "sometimes kids have two dads, because some boys love other boys instead of girls, and that's okay" is in any way 'sexual' or 'groomimg', YOU are the danger to children.

This was really great, thanks for sharing 🙌🏼 my mortgage broker was only £795, and got the rest of their money through the referral to the lender which was great. Also spent many hours of their time - before I paid the initial £395 - to walk me through the process and answer things, and got me a deal much better than I would've found myself. Definitely cuts into the pot of money, but I personally found it great (albeit I was in a very fortunate position and had a good deal of money up front)
Having syntax memorized doesn’t prove you’re smarter than anyone. It’s a cool trick that implies your memory works well for a type of recollection. That’s not a knock to someone in either category. But please don’t use it as justification of brilliance or even experience.Laurie (@laurieontech)Wed, 30 Mar 2022 12:51 +0000
I saw the Creative Director at an old job of mine put an unplugged keyboard in front of a designer during an interview and asked him to show him Adobe shortcuts. The candidate had well over a decade of experience and was a Senior Designer. It was embarrassing to watch.Post details
I had an interviewer ask me to type some commands from memory recently. I replied that on the job one is not going to rely on pure memory and If I can look it up fast enough in front of them that should be sufficient. They relented and we continued.

I tried for years to get Spotify to pay open source sponsors but they didn’t want to hear it, nobody wanted that in their budget. Maybe things are changing, I hope my former colleagues can reply with corrections to this: Spotify doesn’t contribute it’s fair share to FOSS it uses.

I’m under no illusions that this covers a tech salary, and I know is split across a few projects. We aren’t the ones with an $11b revenue though. 👀 We’re also one user (and one sponsor) in a pool of many for most of our sponsored projects.
