Wait so let me get this straight. You’re upset you have to *checks notes* share the stage with other enthusiastic developers? Yes it is a real shame that this is the world we find ourselves in now. Homeboy needs to be humbled.Post details

YOLO in to Production is a valid deployment methodology. It usually follows a lengthy CAB and assurance process, such that you've largely forgotten the detail of what you're actually deploying.Brett 🧑💻🚵♂️🏃♂️💚🇪🇺 (@brett_builds)Fri, 04 Mar 2022 09:22 GMT

Remarkably, if I read his blog post correct, they weren’t banning him from keynoting, just opening it to others? How petty to react like that. It’s the kind of sentiment that creates schisms in the „big tent“Julian Rubisch (@julian_rubisch)Thu, 03 Mar 2022 20:33 GMT
For context this is a school in Texas where an anti-trans rights came to give a presentation. Kids shouting “fuck you fascist” is the kind things that show you that voting rights from 16years old should be a thing. They fight fiercely for our rights they deserve to vote

I interact with a lot of encoded formats like JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) as well as wanting to unpack URLs, so I've found it super handy to be able to pipe visually selected text into a command, i.e.:
:'<,'>!unpack

Or to do the same with a visual selection:
c<C-R>=system('unpack', @")<CR><ESC>

Telegram is the most popular messenger in urban Ukraine. After a decade of misleading marketing and press, most ppl there believe it’s an “encrypted app” The reality is the opposite-TG is by default a cloud database w/ a plaintext copy of every msg everyone has ever sent/recvd.Post details
It's amazing to me that after all this time, almost all media coverage of Telegram still refers to it as an "encrypted messenger." I think one of the uncomfortable truths of software engineering is that coming up with a fair, equitable, and accurate interviewing process is impossible. Any evaluation criteria is going to be unfairly hurt some people and unfairly help others. Livecoding is obvs bad for anxiety

Agree. And most of our comms issues are with other areas that are only cheap-to-be-wrong very early / before building begins.
