I saw the Creative Director at an old job of mine put an unplugged keyboard in front of a designer during an interview and asked him to show him Adobe shortcuts. The candidate had well over a decade of experience and was a Senior Designer. It was embarrassing to watch.

I had an interviewer ask me to type some commands from memory recently. I replied that on the job one is not going to rely on pure memory and If I can look it up fast enough in front of them that should be sufficient. They relented and we continued.

I tried for years to get Spotify to pay open source sponsors but they didn’t want to hear it, nobody wanted that in their budget. Maybe things are changing, I hope my former colleagues can reply with corrections to this: Spotify doesn’t contribute it’s fair share to FOSS it uses.
