This isn't a function of the process, this is because most people applying for the job are perfectly adept at programming. The people who fail this process aren't ones who are unqualified, generally. It is the ones who struggle with the process, usually the marginalized ones.Post details
Google’s interview philosophy is to minimize the risk of hiring unqualified people. That sometimes means turning away qualified people, but on average they seem to hire the best people. Their process works from their perspective. I don’t see it as a good option to remove coding

Will never forget the time I was asked a problem-solving interview question, and then when I struggled, I asked the interviewer to talk it out with me and he literally couldn't figure it out either 🙃🙃🙃

A few months ago I attended a Facebook interview prep session run by their engineers. All of them said that it took them a few months of prep to ace the Facebook interview, even though they were already experienced engineers. Google is so aggressive about mining e-mail receipts for data to sell ads that Amazon no longer tells you what you bought in their emails, and now I honestly can’t tell which company is being the bigger asshole to customers.

Can we stop with this "Why are people still wearing masks even after mandates have been dropped?” thing? Maybe they love the way an N95 gently cradles the contours of their face. Or maybe they're worried about still being in a GODDAMN PANDEMIC.

Spotify, Riot, & AWS all gave me coding exercises I never come close to in my actual job. None of them handled my accommodations request very well (no live audience), either. I can count on one hand the “good” interview processes I’ve had. Most interview processes are daunting.twitter.com/adamrackis/sta…Post details
We need to normalize sharing *good* stories about interviewing. Between AWS, Riot, Spotify and Citadel, I was never asked a single comp sci leetcode question.
