I think about this post a lot. It was in response to Tesco introducing flesh-tone plasters which actually matched people's skin colours. This "default" culture cuts across everything. It defines anyone who isn't a cishet white man as abnormal. Utterly insidious.

I've got all the military memories saved offline and can pull those out at any point. But, I want my kids and later their kids, to have a place to come see what their grandfather did. How I tried to make the world a little bit better. No kids? Even more reason to maintain one!

OFCOM created UK phone numbers which aren't real but do ring to use in TV shows (like the US "555" numbers). Next time an app or website wants your phone number for no good non-spam reason, give it one of these. 07700 900000 and 0121 496 0000 are good. ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecom…
