Always an honour and delight to be back at @Uni_of_Essex 🎓 today I shared my journey to open source with the students here. The next generation of engineers is looking strong 💯Katie Gamanji (@k_gamanji)Mon, 13 Mar 2023 11:49 GMT
Hi @U2 big fan. I notice that your guitarist uses a lot of unresolved sus2 and sus4 chords that build tension but never release it by going to the tonic. Is that why he's called the Edge. Please respond.Pedro Pascal's Wager (@texaninnyc)Tue, 20 Sep 2022 23:23 +0000
I assume this is asking for just London folks?
So it’s Pi Day today. A ridiculous day if you ask me, not because I don’t like pi, but because the date format MM/DD is simply wrong. Pi day should be celebrated on the 31st April instead, that’s when you’ll find me celebrating all the maths and not any time sooner.Phil Nash | @philnash@mastodon.social (@philnash)Tue, 14 Mar 2023 11:59 GMT
I tagged the new version of Souin the HTTP cache middleware used by @caddyserver, compatible with @tyk_io @traefik and soon in the @ApiPlatform documentation! Thanks to all of the helpers to bring this release up! ✌️🚀Darkweak (@Darkweak_dev)Tue, 14 Mar 2023 00:20 GMT

Automattic has acquired the popular ActivityPub plugin for WordPress. @pfefferle, the plugin's creator, will be joining Automattic to work on ActivityPub integrations full time. https://wptavern.com/automattic-acquires-activitypub-plugin-for-wordpress Here's an interview I shot with @pfefferle and @tim@mastodon.timnolte.com about the ActivityPub and Webmentions plugins, and how #WordPress and the #fediverse can be used together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf2Bksfof0U
i’m excited for the potential applications of ChatGPT etc for marketing, content, copywriting the more people who produce bland, meaningless garbage that can be copied in 5 seconds by anyone who can type a sentence, the better i’ll stand out

If you use Jenkins Jobs DSL Plugin, you might face the unable to resolve class utilities.MyUtilities error during the external class importing. The probable reason is the plugin security.
If my mobile security 'lightning talk' is accepted for Swift Leeds...will the EU force me to make it a 'USB-C talk' instead? 🤪
A broken clock is right twice a day. Therefore, obtain 43,200 broken clocks and one of them will always be right. This is actually about AI.
Ten years ago today, Google Reader became the most iconic member of the Killed By Google list. The title of this blog post should win an award for burying the lede. https://googleblog.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-second-spring-of-cleaning.html?m=1
if we're smart about this we can make jordan peterson post about every single kind of pornorgraphy as though it is government policy somewhere

The prospect of a whole load of tech employees watching their options go up in smoke as they’re made redundant while the VC investor class begs Washington for a bailout of SVB should, I dunno, maybe highlight certain inherent contradictions in the economic system… Perhaps it’ll make people realise that the Patagonia jacket crowd are not nice, they’re not smart, and they’re definitely not looking out for your interests.
It's actually bad luck to say MacBook inside an office. You have to call it 'the Scottish Laptop'
We should raise taxes on the rich so that we can afford to bail them out once a decade.
@sunildvr@mastodon.scot Totally, it's becoming harder and harder to find content that is both good quality and up to date with latest versions of languages/libraries. Even hard to tell what versions are being used in a particular blog/stack overflow.

Although never the explicit goal, but teams that do code reviews tend to have far less issues with a bus-factor of one. Not to mention the discussions code reviews can spark, changing approaches etc. And yes, linting has its place: typically before the actual review.Gergely Orosz (@GergelyOrosz)Mon, 13 Mar 2023 08:28 GMT
There’s already a wave of dev tools startups building AI-assisted code reviews. While it’s clear that such tools can (and will) serve as improved linters, their pitch misses an important thing about code reviews: How code reviews spread knowledge about the code across the team.Gergely Orosz (@GergelyOrosz)Mon, 13 Mar 2023 08:23 GMT
Yes would love to read a bit of a retro, I still get a fair bit of traffic to https://www.jvt.me/posts/2022/05/02/lessons-learned-job-hunt/ and I would say the same for leadership roles too

if you want SVB to be bailed out to "support workers" would you agree to have the money go directly and only to non-executive payroll expenses? founders get zero? didn't think so

Really NYU? Cover coughs and sneezes on your signage, but no recommendation to wear a mask? After 3 years of the pandemic? If you aren't going to require masks to protect your patients, the very least you can do is educate people about them.
Post details
NYU Langone is the only health organization in NYC to drop the mask requirement. As you can see, their top priority is our safety but apparently they forgot how SARS-CoV-2 spreads. As long as you wash your hands.
