When @github announced a new feature (diagram support in Markdown, called "Mermaid") they also created a dependency on a library that is orphaned and no longer maintained. I think there's an xkcd for this that some of us have up on our wall.

This is a great feature. But it's worth noting that Mermaid depends heavily on a graph layout library called Dagre, which is now deprecated and unmaintained: github.com/dagrejs/dagre Maybe @github will consider sponsoring Dagre or one of its forks? twitter.com/github/status/…
