CW: suicide If you haven’t watched the documentary Time: The Kalief Browder story I recommend it highly. Kalief spent like 2 years in solitary at Riker’s pretrial because he couldn’t make bail. He was accused of stealing a backpack. He later committed suicide.

A big part of the reason for the difference between some white folks and most Black folks views on bail reform, is that most white folk know that for them, there is almost no chance that they will ever be arrested and charged for a crime for which they are 100% innocent. twitter.com/ShimminyKricke…
