Open source is fundamentally about people. It's an important value to me to pay that forward and throw a few dollars when I can to these champions of our industry. I appreciate GitHub sponsorship & Open Collective for making it really easy to do so. In the corporate world, it's my belief that organizations have a duty as well to harness their vast resources and pay these same maintainers their dues since they benefit the most off that labour.

So McDonald's is giving away free fries for the rest of the year... ... if you use their mobile app ... and agree to the updated terms and conditions ... which say: if you use this app you waive your right to trial in any class action lawsuits against McDonalds." We live in the lamest dystopia. The stuff that got edited out of Snow Crash.

If you finally found the solution to your coding problem in a deep comment or something after having dozens of tabs open, you should write about it in your own blog. Really. Describe the problem in your own words and the solution for it, even if the solution seems really obvious now. Doesn’t matter. Give credit and whatever, but use your own words because you will be surprised at how many people will land on it. Write the blog post you wish you had found.

The last few weeks of doing dev work has made me realize that maybe I'm ready to be a software engineer again, although I'd prefer something in a leadership role rather than being the one cranking out code. So if anyone is interested in me, I have a long, proven track record of building software that you've probably used and solving interesting problems to make it possible, and bringing interdisciplinary skills to the table to do so. My résumé is at https://beesbuzz.biz/resume #GetFediHired

Funny thing with Musk shitting on wikipedia about the money it's wasting is... A free, open collaborative encyclopedia of all human knowledge, so good it's basically the default reference for everything, and it's using this much money Meanwhile tons of tech companies get hyper inflated valuations and absurd amount of VC money for bullshit that is at best not really useful, at worse actively harmful to society. yeah sorry I'm not gonna attack wikipedia for needing budget to run the biggest most useful encyclopedia on earth actually

Time for DNS to propagate normally: a couple minutes, go make a cup of coffee or something Time for DNS to propagate after fixing a typo in a record: The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again
