Thanks to @edent blog posts I look at this on my car entertainment system and recognise character encoding error. In Unicode ’ is 3 bytes 0xE2 0x80 0x99 which in Windows-1252 are â € ™. Maybe font doesn't have € ™ hence extra spaces after â. @ToyotaUK or @BBCRadio4 to blame?
