Strange you should say that. The protocols I use are alive and well, and they give me part of what I need from a community. I do feel good too, and that is part of the story, but to dismiss something you personally don't care for or use seems uncalled for.

For me, the Indieweb is two things: a collection of concepts and ideas (e.g. OwnYourData); and a community with great people. Both offer me a lot, so please don't say "never provide anything to anyone" - There's more alive than dead.

Still blows my mind how people increasingly think the answer to their OSS problems is to harass and abuse the maintainers (aka who can fix their problems).
