“What radicalized you against capitalism?” Watching a guy buy the last PS5 in stock in front of me, then immediately walking it across to the CEX to sell it for profit, which CEX then sells for >2x the RRP. It turns out the "Sainsbury's copywriter bad day" story was as predicted: a twee copywriting joke from the tweeest food brand in the business. @trequartbeasta has taken this photo of an actual pack of the product (left) (Image 2 here another example of their writing - be warned)Post details
A "Sainsbury's copywriter is having a bad day" story has done the rounds (image 1, 2, 3), but... ... the same text was on the Tesco site (image 4). I suspect that likely means this was the actual info from the company (who are well known for their *terrible* copywriting jokes)dan barker (@danbarker)Fri, 15 Oct 2021 16:51 +0000

I'd like to replace the word "requirement" with the word "conversation". Instead of reaction to a bug being "we missed that requirement", what if it was "we missed that conversation". Because we did, we missed the conversation. And conversations are on *us*.

Nothing was "converted" or "decoded." You literally open a web page, right click, and select "view source code." The SSNs were plainly visible.

Accessing publicly available information is not hacking. By having the information so easily available, the website did implicitly grant permission to view it.

A hacker is someone who gains unauthorized access to information or content. This individual did not have permission to do what they did. They had no authorization to convert and decode the code.

Nothing can make tech events safe until you all actually experience a safe inclusive event. Too many tech folk never matured past high school and want to use in person events to re create school and immature giggles even my children would be ashamed to laugh at
Stella (@RisuToInu)Thu, 14 Oct 2021 04:51 +0000
This is why we avoid all these “tech”’events. Bc stuff like this ( if you didn’t see it, a barbie made into a badge, legs splayed, that dispensed hand sanitizer) centers the male gaze and objectification of women and you all write it off as bants and say your events are safe

Job hop all you want, kids, even if the job you currently have feels "okay". You don't have to be miserable to do it. Companies are seriously missing out on retaining talent because they're more willing to pay a new hire way more than before, which is BONKERS for retention??Post details
