I'm now seeing the reverse play out these days, as there's a worker shortage and those not given respect decide they don't have to put up with it. Our cleaner fired 25% of their clients and upon talking with them they were all ones treating them with no dignity.

Treating people around you with respect as like they are equals even when you're technically "above them" in a given context goes a long way. This goes for cleaning staff (e.g. at work or at home), contractors (when you're an employee or hiring them), restaurant staff and so on.

CSS co-designer here. !important was added for one reason only: laws in the US that require certain text to be in a given font-size. !important stops the cascade from changing it. Anything else is probably misuse, and a sign you may not understand the cascade properly.
