Attached: 1 image There's a lot I don't know yet, but no sense in delaying with what I do know – hi, my name is Robin and I'm trans. I'll be going by Robin Riley, and using they/them pronouns for the foreseeable future. And it's going to take ✨ time ✨ to update my info everywhere, so please bear with me. :heart_agender: :nonbinary_heart: :heart_trans:

Attached: 1 image Great to see Ghostty (ghostty.org) hit 1.0 and finally be public. I've been on the beta since October 2023 and it's been a privilege to watch it evolve. And in a stroke of terminal serendipity, Berkeley Mono V2 was released today too - the Semi Condensed version is :chefs-kiss:

First family gathering after coming out (again)! Everyone has been supportive but still, I was awash with doubt and nerves going in. They asked good questions, and didn't make a big deal of it... and hearing them use my new name was just :meowmeltlove: Just a few more things to do before I re-introduce myself in a public fashion :heart_trans:

Events of the last week have me thinking about something that’s true in a lot of contexts. A lot of people like to have control of a relationship; control of a situation; control of the message; or in this case, control of a community. I get it, realizing that you don’t have control can be unsettling. But in reality, not having control is the natural order of things and you’ll have a much better time of it once you realize that.

Occasionally I wake up in the middle of the night and research foreign residency requirements bc the most powerful people/institutions in the world are intent on destroying me, so I have immense empathy for politicians scared a poor 23 year old trans communist will call them cis scum or whatever.

Someone in my life was recently talking about masked autism in adults: The naive clinician or therapist asks, "do you have difficulty with socks?" and the autistic adult says no and concludes they don't have autism The really knowledgeable one asks, "so tell me about socks," and receives a massive infodump about the very specific choices they made about socks and comfort
