I’ve found myself referencing this a couple times recently. Both of those conversations were in the context of React, but the principle applies to every over-adopted technology.

My local dry cleaner was struggling to pay the bills. He was losing $10,000/mo. I told him to "use AI to transform his business" He took my advice. Bought a $20/mo subscription for ChatGPT. His business is totally transformed. He now loses $10,020/mo.

Every study ever: Overworked employees are less productive. Employees who work from home are just as productive as employees who work in the office. The evidence is indisputable. Managers: I see. But I have a hunch that the complete opposite is true.

Grrrrr! Trying to get payment from a US vendor. Their form wouldn't submit unless I had a US phone number. Thank fuck for Google Voice! If I end up leaving tech, it's 100% going to be the people that does it. And the industry as a whole, but I definitely stay in spite of that.
