Today, I’d like to give a special shoutout to the awesome @sambutlerUS. 😍 On October 18th, 2020, Sam contacted me cold on LinkedIn. I responded instantly. Over 2 years later, Sam has tirelessly shipped every COSS Weekly (@COSS_Community) well past 100 issues!

My mind is blown 🤯 In a Dockerfile you can copy things from an image in the registry It totally makes sense considering in multi-stage build you reference local layers but I never imaged using it this way For copying executables etc is fantastic

@www.jvt.me@www.jvt.me I have also joined Prospect recently due to the recommendations from both @alexwlchan and @Edent@mastodon.social

“15 minutes cities” are such an obvious *good* thing that any opposition to them is purely a sign of a deeply ill mind. And how do you hope to walk someone back from thinking “going to the shops should be easier” is an evil plot to control them?

They can’t even figure out how to rate limit the existing API and you think they’re going to add this anytime soon? He’s just blowing hot air, this isn’t coming. twitter.com/mrhumanitygive…

I had a client who said something so true today. He said that he found out that it costs over $500k to house a person on Rikers for a year (it’s true). But then he was like, if they gave me half of that, they’d never see me here ever again.

You can create a beloved series of animated movies that are visually stunning with great worldbuilding and action but in the eyes of Hollywood your art isn't "real" until it's a live action remake with an actor doing all the same stuff but worse and more boring

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania was weird and wonderful. It’s Jonathan Major’s and Michelle Pfeiffer’s film, no question. Great fun, great effects, lots more to come. Plus MODOK was comic perfect.

A step in the right direction imo. WFH is de-skilling people and seriously hurting the industry. You can't build multimillion pound creative projects while the majority of the people doing the work are sitting in their bedrooms. gamedeveloper.com/business/activ…

Who wears a sleeveless dress in February? a) menopausal women, b) women who have taken their jacket off because they are hot c) women who spend every waking moment doing their job instead of thinking about their wardrobe and d) women who can because it’s nobody else’s business.

If you believe this, I hope you never reproduce. Strong women are dope. So are nurturing loving fathers and people in solid relationships with a nuanced dynamics. Men in the “Mano sphere” are silly small-dick energy boys with outdated ideas. This shit makes you look ignorant.
