one thing that normal leaders can do that elon is totally incapable of is nothing, just not doing a thing

honestly the fact that he almost never did anything is a real point in his favor

i know its trendy to hate jack dorsey but being a one day a week billionaire ceo of like 3 different things while spending the other 6 pounding ayuasca deep in the desert is likely to be the best we’re gonna get out of these lunatics

And this is his fault. He failed to properly manage the transition by figuring out who knew what, mapping out coverage, and making sure there was time and motivation to hand everything off. So he is eager to fuck over these people to cover up his incompetence.

Let me just get this out of the way early: he can go fuck himself. With the proverbial sandpaper dildo.

I want to dig in for a bit on this set of Slack replies from a Twitter manager talking about undoing some of the layoffs.

The most obvious thing here is that he is planning to fuck over people he just got done fucking over. He just helped put these people out on the street in a recession. Now he wants to bring them back, get something out of them, and then fire them AGAIN.

William Pietri (@williampietri)Sat, 12 Nov 2022 18:58 GMT

ngl, corporations being forced to come on here and publicly say shit like "we apologize for the impersonator account that tweeted that everyone deserves food, clean water, and shelter, that is absolutely not what we stand for" is pretty funny.

If you need a laugh this morning, Elon's idea of curbing abuse for Twitter Blue was predicated on "If you get suspended I keep your $8" and I think after a twelve-hour session with puppets and background music he finally grasped the idea of "credit card chargebacks."

My heart goes out to all those still at Twitter. Y'all must be going through hell right now. Thank you for sticking it out so far, but don't (figuratively, one hopes) kill yourself for this site. You don't deserve this treatment. Get out if you can. Condolences if you can't.

Scoop from within Twitter: small things are breaking, not enough engineers to fix them. Noticed that notification counts are not showing? The BE service powering it is down since Thursday. A bug was filed, but the team that would fix it is full on with verification work.

I don't want this site to implode! I have built up a network of people I love to read and followers who are supportive and engaged. I will miss that. If you want to get to know more women techies, there are a few on this list: twitter.com/i/lists/712989… I hope to stay in touch

When you share a tweet, the URL copied contains a parameter ?t=XYZ. This is the encoded user ID of the person who shared this tweet (aka your user ID). Twitter can track this way who views the link that you shared elsewhere. To maintain privacy, manually delete this parameter.

Elon’s “pedo guy” gaffe is memorable because it remains one of the few examples of him trying to work the room on his own instead of biting someone else’s joke or posting the rolling laugh-cry emoji. and all he could do was smear an actual hero as a sex offender. lol and lmao

miley 🐡 (@MilesKlee)Sat, 12 Nov 2022 06:39 GMT

So, look. I completely agree with this. And I’m obviously vested in this website. But when it’s being driven off a cliff by a man-child who thinks the rules of the road don’t apply to him…🤷‍♂️

As I said, @Twitter is the best source of information there is, by a huge margin, if you know how to use it (hint- not to signal virtue or call names!). Rather than quitting, let´s do our best to help.
