Highly appreciate and recommend starting messages with “not urgent”. Especially when they are out or outside working hours.

Just months ago, systematically deporting people to a country they have no connection to was a far-right fantasy. Now both candidates for PM are promising to not only keep the Rwanda policy, but expand it. This racist scheme is being normalised - we must fight to scrap it.

I could fix it, but it shouldn't be needed for auth which is a simple form -> post to backend. If blocking things for privacy purposes breaks their site, then they're doing bad things for consumer data and I want no part of them for our renewal.

Maybe this is a me thing, but when someone I ain’t talked to in a minute randomly pops in my head, I like to send a quick message to them. Let them know I thought of them, hope they’re well, etc. Does anyone else do this? Is this weird?

I ask, because frankly, I don’t know if anyone has ever done that to me, which suggests either it’s weird on my part, no one ever thinks of me, or both. Lol. 😅

It’s so strange/funny/sad/a sign of the times to see all these (probable) adults on here dragging these young people for excercising their right to protest. Yes, you can walk out in protest. It’s okay!

Yeah that’s one of the most special days for a new medical student. You don’t need an anti-science, anti-medicine speaker being a part of it. UM was within their rights to invite her. Students were within their rights to walk out.

Shame you have two working kidneys and no one has forced you to give one up for those dying on the transplant list. It’s called body autonomy.

Hi! Woman who can’t have a baby here—my inability to conceive is NOT the burden for another woman to carry. To force someone to remain pregnant just because I cannot is ludicrous—don’t use us as your reasoning.

Same with donating blood. If you stab someone you can't be compelled to donate blood to them, even if it would save their life. Even after you die your blood/organs can't be harvested even though you don't need them anymore.

As a retired MD, I salute and congratulate every one of you who followed your conscience and stood up and walked out. The white coat ceremony is today a major landmark. To use this platform to express your respect for medical autonomy is a first step to honoring your commitment.

Because they are led by science not political opinion. Abortion in healthcare/science is seen as a part of women’s reproductive health not a poltical opinion

I know how difficult interviewing software developers is, but it’s not hard to spare a moment to check “am I asking the candidate to demonstrate job-relevant skills or am I asking them to cosplay as an academic computer scientist”
