It's crazy we live in a world where Jackie Weaver is being held more accountable than the actual Prime Minister

Post details

Jackie Weaver did not "have the authority" after all, reports say bbc.in/3NsytnP

I'm not sure they actually WANT people to contribute.

it’s absolutely horrendous to see olympians, multiple newspapers, and countless tv pundits relentlessly harassing and smearing emily bridges for… being a good cyclist who happens to be trans? this country is terrified that trans people can and will thrive despite everything.

When the bartender pulled my pint he said, enjoy your peace. I thought that was very nice as things to say go. I am enjoying my peace

Most of what gets shared as heartwarming stories are usually temporary, small-scale responses to systemic failures. I wish we found it just as inspirational to make structural changes to unjust systems, but I don’t know if our culture knows how to tell those stories.

Many Western experts and politicians loved to repeat the story of "rich Russia and poor Ukraine". The fact is, that except of extra rich Moscow and Petersburg, Russia is an underdeveloped country, and average Ukrainian province lives much better than average Russian province.

It's conference season again, so you may be preparing a talk with code snippets. Please remember -- MAKE THE FONT SIZE UNCOMFORTABLY LARGE FOR YOU Your audience will appreciate being able to read it. 👀 And... High contrast between background & text colors ◼️◻️🟨

If you write an article and you use someone else's work as a source, please link back to them. That's the least you can do to show appreciation. Last week alone I read 2 posts with code samples that seem veeeery familiar.

ok i cannot believe how hard tetris effect goes. As soon as gameplay started it felt like that spiritual/tactile/aural synesthesia of Rez. I checked and of course they're both made by @Mizuguchitter.

On the last day, skip+ level managers should do exit interviews, not HR. HR usually treats it as a form filling exercise. But for skip levels, it is a rare chance to get more-honest-than-usual feedback w/ ~no repercussions. Also interesting to give choice of exit interviewers.

Not sure if its common knowledge yet, but there’s a growing consensus that being a potato for 6 weeks post Covid can help prevent Long Covid. As in, do not exercise, do not push yourself, do not add inflammation to an already inflamed system. Just chill.

If your incident writeup lists “human error” as a cause, it’s a sign that you don’t really understand how the incident happened. Instead, you stopped asking questions too soon. If your system depends on humans never making errors, you have a systems problem.
