When @github announced a new feature (diagram support in Markdown, called "Mermaid") they also created a dependency on a library that is orphaned and no longer maintained. I think there's an xkcd for this that some of us have up on our wall.

This is a great feature. But it's worth noting that Mermaid depends heavily on a graph layout library called Dagre, which is now deprecated and unmaintained: github.com/dagrejs/dagre Maybe @github will consider sponsoring Dagre or one of its forks? twitter.com/github/status/…

What about people who aren’t sure if you mean a sandwich, a sexual identity, or a music mix tape? Me. I’m the people. Am I neurotypical or simply clueless?

When something is boring we shouldn't call it vanilla. Vanilla is a rich and complex flavor. When something is boring should call it "red velvet."

It seems significant, if also ominous, that armed citizens popping off shots blindly are now afforded the same passive-construction rhetorical absolution for killing people that police get.

Now that The Tinder Swindler has proved to be a huge success on Netflix - a documentary of a con artist scamming ~$10M from women over the span of years until arrested - I’m waiting when they’ll do The Crypto Swindler where hackers drain 10x this amount from unsuspecting people.
