I Am Devloper (@iamdevloper)Wed, 15 Dec 2021 15:55 GMT

seems like the entire internet is built on either small open source projects run by a couple folkx for free, and the gigantic cloud infrastructure run by a couple of companies. when either one is borked, the world goes poof

Idea: An anonymous "vote to end meeting" button where if 50% of people press it, the meeting ends immediately.

I don't want to embarrass folks like @cassidoo and @techgirl1908. But I'm having a moment where I can see how much has changed about who gets recognition and admiration in the dev community. We are choosing better leaders, and it shows the growth we've been pushing for.

PSA: Do not use EAP therapy resources. This is some of the legislation we are working on in Washington... hopefully federally. @chelseyglasson brought it to light that Google is using her EAP therapy notes against her... and the fact that they had access at all is alarming.

When a friend sends you a payment on Monzo you can say thanks with an emoji. And some Northerners sent a certain emoji more than anyone else... #MonzosVeryImportant2021DataThing

Word of the day is to 'noggle' something: 19th-century English dialect meaning to manage something with difficulty/to just about scrape through. (As in 'I could barely get out of bed this morning, but I noggled it somehow'.)

I don't care if #Log4J is supposed to be pronounced as Log-Forge... ...I'm still gonna pronounce it as Log-Four-Jay. Same way that Nginx is not Engine-Ex, it's En-Ginx (G pronounced like the G in gif).
