Here's what happens when you post a photo with no alt text on Twitter, because I think some of you don't understand what I have to do in response. First, it depends on what device I'm looking at it. 1/

I have a lot of thoughts on this. Perhaps unsurprisingly. People’s reactions when they realize I’m a complete and complex human and not this flat horcrux of myself is… telling.

Oh wow, I was just talking about this in therapy.

Something hard to learn when suddenly a public profile: You often exist as an entirely fictional character in people's mental storyworlds, with no inputs except escaping from themselves, and no outputs except anger at their phantoms superimposed on pictures of actual people. twitter.com/jenmsft/status…

I have no idea what I did to provoke this comment, but I'm fairly certain if someone looked at what I was doing with my time they'd say I spend way too many hours working

I also wonder how this lack of social stamina is contributing to burnout.

It’s interesting because people keep saying, “I can’t wait for things to get back to normal” and I have fundamentally changed through this experience. What’s normal?

Honestly this is one of the things that keeps me from being social. Plus, I worry about being uninteresting as well as finding others uninteresting! I miss connection and hugs though.

I’m interested in how COVID has affected us socially because I don’t know about y’all but I have 0 social stamina I miss people, but I also don’t want to see or talk to anyone & if I do then I can only be genuinely interested for about 20 mins before I start looking for the exit
