I've had 3 calls today: 1. Huge football team in the UK wanting to use Fathom 2. Sharing work with a developer friend 3. An elderly gentleman telling me my code is bad & broken This mixture keeps me grounded.

Are there any techie 'reaction' videos out there? No-one checking out the kubernetes codebase and live-streaming their response as they try and grok the codebase? Tearing their hair out at trying to install Spinnaker? Would this be entertainment or some kind of torture to watch?

Might make it a rule that I don't date people who haven't done therapy. I'm not pairing with someone who hasn't debugged

A surprisingly large amount of my career to date has been based on taking large numbers of students to nandos, but this particular extravangaza was in Baltimore during SIGCSE. It was so good

every now and then I remember that we once booked out a whole nandos for several hundred students and ate every chicken wing they had and really I peaked too soon

Wait... being "cancelled" is a bad thing?? I always just thought from context it meant you keep all your followers and opportunities and people will always jump in to try to defend you and list all your positive qualities 🤔

Deleting bad code is cancel culture. Instead keep all the code even if it’s bad. It might have good intentions.
