After 4 years of having the buzz of always having the chance to see what's going on in production and spot things before they're problems, I'm feeling quite empty in my new job where we don't have anything yet 🥲

One of the greatest shots in wuxia history, from the desert storm fight in New Dragon Gate Inn (1992). A tiny budget, no cgi, an unsteady camera rolling down a hill, nine seconds of pure gold that puts many modern big-budget Hollywood shots to shame.

I’m under the impression that canonically Worf doesn’t like cats but simultaneously I cannot believe that a Klingon could not see a tiny kitten doing the classic tiny kitten move of going absolutely apeshit on something 10x its size and not respect it deeply

From the ones I've got, it'll be a way for them to get your site to link out to theirs, improving their search rankings, as well as promoting themselves. I've only had one that actually was vaguely reasonable

We have normalised taking pictures and videos of people without consent. We’ve made it socially acceptable to capture strangers going about their day to post to audiences that they themselves are unaware they’re “entertaining”. There is an entitlement to these actions.

I deleted my ig a few weeks ago, and terrifyingly, I find myself wanting to revive it every time I do something "cool". Its effects are so insidious - the need to prove that our lives are awesome.

I’d say Microsoft should be ashamed but when it comes to preferencing its own browser in Windows, history has shown us that Microsoft has no shame. Embarrassing that it has so little faith in Edge (which is good) that it’s resorting to shenanigans. theverge.com/2021/11/15/227…Dieter Bohn (@backlon)Mon, 15 Nov 2021 16:13 GMT

I made a little app: it sits in your notification area and strips all that utm_stuff=blah&utm_banner=ohno tracking link stuff off of links on your clipboard, so when you paste the link to your mates to share it, all that stuff is gone. Simple but useful! kryogenix.org/code/utm_no/Stuart Langridge (@sil)Sat, 13 Nov 2021 19:25 GMT

My app utm_no removes utm_whatever=blah tracking params from copied links. It COULD turn t.co links copied from twitter into real links, removing twitter tracking, but it must hit Twitter for that: a privacy problem. Would you want that?Post details
