Everytime I hit a paywall on some respected journalism site and then simply don't read the article rather than subscrining, I think about how Fox, Breitbart, The Daily Mail, et al. never ever ever paywall their content. I think about this constantly.

You still don't seem to get it. Twitter's users are not the customers. We are the product. The advertisers are the customers. Charging journalists for a security feature (at a price no one will pay) will make this site less reputable and less attractive for your ACTUAL customers.

One of the takeaway from Brazil's election should be that cops set up over 500 roadblocks to prevent Lula supporters from voting. Cops were also disproportionately represented among the January 6th rioters. It's past time folks realize that police are fascists.
