Incredible that the most complete and internally consistent account of what happened at FTX/Alameda to date is not the NYT or WSJ or the FT but the blog “milky eggs dot com” written by user “fbi femboy”

ok a thousand quatloos to the first person to convince Musk they're a twitter engineer, clap back at him, and then get fired without actually working there.

I'm honestly having trouble imagining a viable future Twitter alternative that isn't part of the fediverse (Mastodon is currently just the most visible implementation) Are we really all going to trust some new centralized startup, after how badly we got burned on Twitter?Simon Willison (@simonw)Wed, 16 Nov 2022 00:07 GMT
Between and I took 4605 steps.
As an engineer at Twitter, I can confirm that Elon Musk doesn’t understand anything about our website, or coding in general. Not gonna lie, we laugh REALLY hard about it behind his back. We’ve been calling him “the CEO,” but it stands for Code Efficiency 0.

Here's how I used to run our weekly team meeting while I was at Uber. I tried to cut down on as many meetings as possible. I found that this meeting: about 45-60 minutes/week was key to everyone being on the same page. And for engineers to be aware of business & product.Gergely Orosz (@GergelyOrosz)Thu, 31 Mar 2022 13:22 +0000
A software engineer shared how, for their team meeting, the agenda is just this tweet linked below 😅 (I’m glad it’s inspiring: though anyone thinking of using it, I strongly suggest to tailor it to what the needs or focus of your team are)twitter.com/gergelyorosz/s…Post details

Good reminder that corporate Slack accounts can let bosses read *everything* on any given employee slack account. Private messages, locked rooms — it's all visible to them, and in some cases they can and will use it against employees.

every time musk fires a twitter engineer for calling out his bs, the general response is "sad, but you shouldn't call out your boss in public". why? why is it assumed that people in power can say or do whatever tf they want without even being called out for it. serf mentality
