For those saying that criticizing should be done in private: I have reports for a number of employees similarly terminated the past 24 hours who were criticizing Musk's tweet on an internal Slack watercooler channel. Some criticized other eng leaders. ~10 people, as I hear.

Fun JS bug of the day introduced by a linting change, that lost me a good amount of time trying to work out what was going wrong:

-  const tokenSet = await client.oauthCallback(redirect, params, { code_verifier });
+  const tokenSet = await client.oauthCallback(redirect, params, { codeVerifier })

Silently changed the meaning of the code here, and needed to be fixed with:

-  const tokenSet = await client.oauthCallback(redirect, params, { codeVerifier }).catch((err) => {
+  const tokenSet = await client.oauthCallback(redirect, params, { code_verifier: codeVerifier }).catch((err) => {

Funnily enough, I've had this lead to dangerous logging in the past, but didn't spot this at first. That'll teach me!

At better tech companies, meritocracy is a given, including pointing out incorrect arguments your boss made *with facts*. And yes, I’ve seen this happen in public enough settings (eg all hands). A leader wanting to have a culture of meritocracy would handle this different.

Yes you could remote ssh in to all the boxes as root with the password of the company name and year it was founded: odeo2005. Code changes could be made that way until the switch from subversion to git.

apparently they didnt turn off 2-factor authentication but they DID turn off the service that sends you the 2-factor authentication code. so if you log out and try to log in with an authentication code you simply wont receive one. lol. lmao twitter.com/elonmusk/statu…
